“I would like nothing better than to play USC for the [national] title,” Miles reportedly said in a speech to a heavily pro-LSU gathering in New Orleans. “I can tell you this, that they have a much easier road to travel. They’re going to play real knockdown drag-outs with UCLA and Washington, Cal-Berkeley, Stanford — some real juggernauts — and they’re going to end up, it would be my guess, in some position so if they win a game or two, that they’ll end up in the title [game]. “I would like that path for us. I think the SEC provides much stiffer competition.”
I’m not the biggest USC fan by any means, but their coaching and talent is excellent. I can’t wait to lol @ Les Miles when Virginia Tech rolls through and beats them in week two (yes i just said that). Oh and by the way, you might want to check out LSU’s schedule for this year after reading the article. It can be found right HERE.

While SEC is indeed a stronger conference, USC’s been known to recruit well. Not to mention Pete Carroll’s grooming the Trojans in an NFL-like system. Like them or hate them, USC’s been the team to beat not only in the Pac-10, but also in the NCAA. I think the SEC was weakened a bit thanks in part to the NFL Draft. The only advantage I see the SEC having is faster players. If I thought any team in the SEC had even a snowball’s chance in hell of beating the trojans, I’d have to put my money on Urban Meyer and the Florida Gators.
